Top new features in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform from our Account Managers’ view
Microsoft published the first major update to Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, called 2022 Release Wave 1, introduced between April and September 2022. The annual release plans bring a number of smaller and more significant improvements and new features across all applications.
What are the most important changes of the new wave according to our account manager?
New, modern Advanced find Enables searching for rows and creating personal views, including the possibility to share, hide, order and delete them.
Options to share views Enable easy collaboration within teams. Managing views is simpler with personalization options to build your own set of views.
Co-presence in records See colleagues who are currently working on a record including their online status. You can start a chat or send an email. This functionality is now available on the Account, Case, Opportunity, and Contact tables.
New activity drop-down to show only relevant activities The new activity drop-down list will only show activities that are relevant to the app.
Appointment description supports rich text You can now add links, lists, and other rich text in your appointment description. The new rich text editor can be enabled with the Teams meeting feature.
Notifications The notification table stores notifications for each user. It is possible to configure how the notification is shown and how to dismiss it. Notifications appear in the notification center until the recipient dismisses them or they expire.
Create and join Teams meetings from in-app appointments, with a single click from the appointment or the timeline control.
Resubmit multiple failed runs at once Currently, you must manually resubmit each run individually if you want to rerun them. The new feature allows you to select and resubmit multiple runs at once.
The 2022 Release Wave 1 also contains a list of obsolete features that should no longer be used. These features or capabilities will continue to work and are fully supported until they are officially removed.:
Internet Explorer 11 for Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform,
Support for viewing and managing application users in legacy web client,
Skype integration with customer engagement app,
Form footers,
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 application for Windows,
Dynamics 365 Connector,
Dynamics 365 for Outlook,
Voice of the Customer,
Canvas apps,
and many more.
